Non-profit organization Animus Apertus from Banska Bystrica manages a theatre workshop that employs 6 girls from the hospice of St Vincent. Aim of the project was to teach the girls how to draft and sew theatrical costumes.

Part of the project was also the execution of play played by the same girls in their own drafted and sewn costumes. The premiere was in November 2013 in Bratislava and among the invited were also the members of GRANVIA foundation. The play had an educational character and it presented the public their complicated lives in orphanages without parents or with parents, who showed no interest in them. The project First step did not end with the premiere. Animus Apertus showed their play to viewers in Slovakia. Requalification of girls in the area of theatrical costumes from the draft to the sowing itself resulted in the cooperation with fashion designers and the organization created the concept of a new fashion brand launched into market in 2014.

Project Patron: Robert Kiss

“I am pleased that the long-term work of Mrs Dubačová was publicly appreciated (Crystal Wing in the category Philanthropy). In scope of the grant of GRANVIA Foundation now we can work together on her next brave plan, the meaning of which is to help girls from orphanages to stand on their own feet.”
